Dec 20 2008 Update :

After more than a year, I’ve made some pretty important changes to This Is Madness. I am aware of the bug that doesn’t allow you to advance past the second Sheriff fight, but it’s been so long since I coded this, my code is trash so I have just introduced a workaround.

HERE IS WHAT YOU MUST DO

On the options menu located on the first section of the game, there is a a button that will transport you to the level right after the Sheriff. It is right below the “Quality” buttons. This will keep all your weapons and ammo. I advise you to play the first section because the enemies will be still be stronger and you need all the weapons you can get. Additionally, if you do choose to play through the first phase, you will most likely get caught in the bug.

IF THAT HAPPENS

Right click and select “Return to Main Menu”. You will still have all weapons and ammo as if you died and returned to the menu from there.
